Sagard is named after the French missionary Gabriel Sagard, who set out for Quebec in the seventeenth century. This gregarious and adventurous man compiled the first French-Huron dictionary. The white bear survives by adapting to diversified and complex surroundings that range from dry land to ice and water. A renowned hunter, the white bear is also highly adept at transmitting knowledge to its offspring.
