Kris Hansen is the Chief Technology Officer at Sagard and joined the firm in this role in 2024. Kris leads the firm’s technology strategy, overseeing the development and implementation of innovative solutions that support the scale and growth of the firm. He reviews and assesses technology capabilities of prospect investments and participates in the analysis of trends and changes in the financial services industry. He leads the Sagard data lab and drives the technical aspects of the artificial intelligence strategy.
Prior to Sagard, Kris was the Co-Founder and CTO of Synctera, focusing on building a partnership banking platform for the US and Canada. He has also served as a CTO at Portage Ventures and Koho Financial, where he played a key role in scaling a challenger bank and a venture fund. He has formerly worked in the banking industry where he was the head of solution architecture at the Royal Bank of Canada and the Chief Architect at ATB Financial. Kris’s career is marked by a deep commitment to financial services innovation and leveraging technology to shape the future of the industry.
Kris holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Athabasca University.
