James Tybur is Managing Partner and Head of Venture at Sagard Private Equity Solutions and a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee.

James joined Performance Equity Management, now part of Sagard Private Equity Solutions, in 2010. Prior to joining Sagard, he was a Principal at Trinity Ventures, an early-stage technology-focused venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, where he focused on direct investments in software and internet companies. During his tenure, he also participated in over 50 investments across the firm’s portfolio.

Earlier in his career, James held operating roles at several venture-backed technology companies, including VERITAS Software (acquired by Symantec), PolyServe (acquired by Hewlett-Packard), and About.com (acquired by The New York Times). He began his career at Boston Consulting Group, where he worked in both the Atlanta and Singapore offices.

James received his undergraduate engineering degree with honors from the University of Virginia and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
