Paul Newsome is Partner, Head of Investment Solutions and Capital Formation at Sagard Private Equity Solutions. He is a member of the Executive Committee and the Private Equity Investment Committee.
Paul joined Unigestion, now part of Sagard Private Equity Solutions, in 2002 as an investment professional covering European and US primaries, secondaries and direct co-investments. Over the course of his tenure, he has held a number of senior roles across the platform. In 2005, he relocated to the firm’s Jersey City office to lead North American investments and build out the local private equity team. In 2009, he was appointed Global Head of Investments, overseeing fund selection, secondary investments and direct co-investments globally, and serving as a member of the Investment Committee. He was appointed to his current role in 2019, where he leads investment solutions and business development across the platform.
Prior to joining the firm, Paul began his career as a Financial Analyst at Procter & Gamble. He subsequently advised on public and private capital raising for technology companies at Quartz Capital and later worked as an Investment Officer at BancBoston Capital, focusing on venture capital investments in Europe.
Paul holds a First Class Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Management Accountant.
