Victoire de Lavigne

Victoire de Lavigne is an Associate, Portage Ventures at Sagard and joined the firm in 2021. As a member of Portage, Victoire invests in early-stage and growth-stage opportunities globally. She is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management. Victoire is based in Paris and specifically covers the EU region.

Prior to Sagard, Victoire spent more than three years in Venture Capital as an early-stage investor at Founders Future in Paris. She was involved in 20+ Seed deals across Europe. Victoire also spent time as an Equity Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs in London, where she specifically covered the EU Telecom sector. Victoire started her career at Lazard Frères Gestion in Asset Management in Paris.

Victoire holds an advanced master’s degree in Finance from ESCP Business School in Paris and a master’s degree from ESSCA, specializing in Finance.

Bart Dziarski

Bart Dziarski is a Director, Corporate Finance, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Sagard and joined the firm in 2021. Bart is responsible for scaling the corporate finance function within the Sagard platform, including leading the coordination and development of Sagard’s long term strategic and financial plan. He is a member of the finance team and is based in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to Sagard, Bart was a Senior Analyst & Portfolio Manager within CIBC Asset Management’s (“CAM”) public equity team specializing in the Financial and Real Estate sectors. Prior to CAM, Bart was an Equity Research Associate at Canaccord Genuity specializing in the Financial sector. Bart spent the first six years of his professional career in forensic accounting.

Bart holds a B.Comm from the University of Guelph, specializing in economics and finance. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and CFA charterholder (CFA Society of Toronto).

Puja Kumar

Puja Kumar is Vice-President, Legal Affairs at Sagard and joined the firm in 2021. Puja Kumar is responsible for the oversight and management of legal matters relating to Sagard’s activities and operations, including fund formation, fundraising, investment and asset management activities. Puja is a member of the legal team and is based in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to Sagard, Puja Kumar was Vice-President, Legal Affairs for Fiera Private Alternative Investments Inc. at Fiera Capital Corp. providing extensive legal advice, guidance and services to different investment platforms and activities in infrastructure, real estate, private credit, agriculture, private equity and other private investment strategies worldwide. Prior to Fiera, Puja was Head of Legal for Third Eye Capital Corporation, a Toronto-based private debt firm specializing in innovative debt financing solutions. Prior to Third Eye Capital, Puja was a Senior Associate in the Financial Services Group at McMillan LLP.

Puja graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours from the Schulich School of Business, York University and obtained her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario.  Puja also holds multiple certifications from CSI Global Education and recently completed the CAIA Fundamentals Program. She has previously served on a number of not-for-profit governance, community and fundraising initiatives, most recently as Director of New Circles Community Services (Toronto).

Prior to Sagard, Sophia was an Executive Assistant to the President & Project Coordinator at Nespresso Canada, a fast-paced environment with a double-digit growth.
During the last 8 year, Sophia was supporting the Nespresso Canada President on all aspects of his responsibilities (admin to strategy) and at different levels, his Management Committee (Directors) and was working on specific project missions (e.g: HR projects) while maintaining confidentiality. She was mastering the full management of National events (Town halls, off sites, operations meetings, etc.), as well as the Communication annual calendar for the General Management. She also managed the entire Nespresso Canada Head Office project move (20 months) by initiating Real Estate meetings in the facilities search, obtaining accurate information regarding the Market benchmark and everything related to the needs & Nestlé standards.

Geneviève is responsible for overseeing all strategic and operational aspects of human resources at the firm. Her focus areas will be talent and leadership development, as well as growth and transformation strategies.

Geneviève will be partnering with the President and the Leadership Team. She is based in Montréal, Canada.

Prior to Sagard, Geneviève was Vice-President of People and Transformation at Medicom where she was the HR strategic partner to the Leadership team and led a significant HR transformation, which contributed to Medicom’s international growth, and its first ever designation of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. Geneviève also held various business consulting roles enabling medium-sized companies in executing their growth and efficiency strategies.

Geneviève holds a B.Sc. Biology from the University of Saint-Bonaventure, NY and an MBA from the Norwegian School of Management, BI. She is an MEI (Management Executive Institute) lecturer at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University and a head coach for competitive girls’ basketball.

Prior to Sagard, Mariama was Senior Director of Strategy and Finance at Just For Laughs Group, a live entertainment and media production company, where she oversaw all aspects of financial and strategic planning and implementation post-acquisition.

Mariama holds a MBA and a B.A. in Political Science and International Development from McGill University, and served on the board of directors of Partenariat du Quartier des Spectacles, an entity that manages Montreal’s downtown cultural district.
